Kameya

Kameya

亀や

Kameya has been hosting customers for more than 300 years. The name of this establishment: "the turtle's house," refers to the ancient legend that explains the origins of Yunohama Onsen. A long time ago, a fisherman found a turtle lying on the beach, where a flow of hot water was gushing out. The turtle has open wounds, but the magic water healed them all. Since then, it is believed Yunohama Onsen's water has healing properties. Kameya has hosted two of the Imperial couples: Emperor Hirohito and Empress Kojun, and Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko have stayed in Kameya's luxury-class suite called "HORAI." There are also standard rooms that still feature a high level of comfort.
